Writing That Scene Submissions

If you are interested in having one of your own scenes reviewed for a Writing That Scene feature, please copy/paste the scene, starting with where it begins, into the box below. The portion should be no longer than 450 words and can be shorter. Please mention where it is located as well.

If you wish, I will include a link back to your blog or website so readers who enjoy the excerpt can find out more about the author who wrote it, but scenes can be submitted anonymously if you would prefer.

Your submission to Writing That Scene should not include anything that would earn a rating beyond PG-13 in a movie. I don’t generally read anything that is overly gory, gritty, or erotic, so I won’t be able to give helpful feedback if that is the kind of writing involved.

If I think your scene will work for this project, we’ll craft a post that is designed to help you, as the author, answer questions you may have about the scene. The timing of your post may not be instantaneous, but I will put it on the schedule.

I know that, for me, one of the most helpful things to do when I hit THAT scene was to see how other writers handled similar problems. Thank you for your interest. I hope to hear from you soon!
