A to Z 2017: Reflections

My A-Z Blogging theme was to cover 26 touch-me-not categories of fiction writing. Overall, it went better than I expected, especially since I had to write a fiction section and a nonfiction, reflection section for every post (and I had none of them done ahead of time…what was I thinking?).

The biggest change from last year, for me, was the lack of a list. Some bloggers had running lists of A-Zers who were doing a fiction story as their theme, but it was hard to keep track of what story was where, for me, since I didn’t have a list to work from. I couldn’t scan down the same page, day after day, and remember “Oh, I want to look in on this site that’s above my own entry by about ten or twenty blogs” or “I want to visit my neighbors” because every day, the list’s order and the “neighbors” would change. I understand that the list was hard to maintain and full of broken links and false blogs who were really interested in advertising, but I missed it all the same.

I’m still trying to track down all the blogs I enjoyed and wanted to catch up on. (But some of that may be my fault, as this April, I hardly had time to write my posts, much less visit everyone as I wanted to.) What with kids not feeling well and my dog eating butter, it was not the best of months, but it was still fun, and I plan to be back next year. 🙂

  1. Andrea, do you use any bookmarking app? I use Feedly and that’s how I kept in touch with all the blogs I wanted to follow. that’s how I always keep in touch with the blogs I want to follow 😉

It’s very handy and you have a degre of managing. they give you a list of all the new posts on the blogs you follow and you have th epossibility to delate from the list posts you’re not interested into and to group blogs by whatever methode you want.
When I started having a list of over 100 blogs I follow, I needed soemthing handy 😉

  2. I just make list in word doc and copy and paste the links to visit those blogs. so I pretty much add when I find a blog I want to revisit.

I didn’t prepare my posts either. I write them almost on the same day I posted them, crazy but it must have worked because I finished the challenge but you’re right, there should be some preparation or at least have a few posts ready.

    have a lovely day.
