Over the last few weeks, I’ve begun the Writerlea Book Review series, where we examine the merits of a variety of books (primarily in the science-fiction, fantasy, or young adult genres), looking at their narration, content, characters, artwork, and world-building. They’re a bit more in-depth than most (Amazon, Goodreads, etc.), but they’re designed to look at the book from a writing point of view: what worked, what didn’t, and why.
If you have a book you’d like me to review (even if you are the author), I welcome your recommendation at this link. My policy is to only review books I can finish, but I try to be fair, pointing out the positives and negatives as nicely as I can (and keeping in mind that, someday, it’ll be my book that’s getting reviewed, in the same way, by other people).
