I give my end-of-week post to other authors and bloggers whose work is worth noting. There are so many excellent articles out there, so many good poems and stories, pictures and art that I want to use my online space, once a week, to send all of you to something you might otherwise miss. Let this redirect you, like an open door to a view that’s worth seeing. The selected post may be old, but it’s new to me, and it’s beauty still rings true.

This week’s spotlight is the poem, “Learn” by John White, posted on his blog at Double U.

It’s about being more aware than most of us are, in our daily lives, and when I first began reading it, I didn’t realize what the poem was saying (I was tired) until I got to the third line, and then I was taken aback. Here I was, glazing my way through words that told me to stop and pay attention. It was ironic and beautiful, and I hope you all enjoy it.
